My mother was given these $1 bills at a softball game yesterday.
She took them to the local police department thinking they were fake.
The officers there told her they were real and one officer even tried to buy them
from her for $10. We were wondering how much these bills might be
worth, if anything at all and if they are indeed real?

They look real to me, and I would not think twice about giving you $50.00 for the set. You should put them on Ebay and see what they go for.

That's very interesting - you see, they come in pairs but yet the inking is way too much on the first note. If you are planning to sell, I reckon you should sell them as a set.

Get them authenticated by PMG or PCGS Currency graders first. The money spent on this may well be worth the returns of a potential future sale as well as offset the concerns of buyers trying to avoid the fake error notes that are rampant out there.

I agree with krispy, pay to get them authenticated and then sell them as a set. This is way more than a slight ink smear, so they will have a nice premuim attached to them. $50 for the set is not unheard of, but I think you might be able to do even better after authentication. Nice finds!

    NO bad advice!!!
You should sell them to me cheap as they are "J" notes and consec's!! That's a great ink blot!
    Congrates on the find.

Yeah, I'd be into it, but I'm trying not to get into the expense of error notes in my Dist. Collection too!

    Keepin' it real :hail:

Well I don't think I'll put tons of them in there but it would be nice to have an example or two for my district set.
Just like I'll get a high grade National from there too and have some obsoletes in it. But they are not part of the base set.
