General question about multiple strike coins.

    Most multiple strike coins I see are quite larger than the normal size coin. How do these coins get into circulation. If they were wrapped as normal by the fed, wouldnt coin bust wrapper and assuming it didnt... wouldnt the roll would be wider than other 49 in the box and I would assume not fit...just a general observation..and Ive been scratching my head all week. any thoughts??

    If the coin was fully in the collar when it was struck multiple times it would still be the correct diameter. Are you asking about coins that are struck off-center?

    Duh....sometimes Im an idiot....thank you...

    I was referring to additional strikes outside of the collar that result in an oblong shape..

    Will now crack a beer and ponder other complexities...thanks...:D
