Here are photos of Karin (Rick's assistant who up until now has avoided being photographed!) and Mary of New World Rarities (see, I don't just do my covorting with the boys!) Karin Mary
wow, i need to stop coming in this thread, its making me sad! i really wish i would have went. that BEP thing would have been cool.
Well good news for ya Panda. The Bep does that same show like 4 times a year at the big ones. So you can still see it. But I know how you feel...I'm missing it too.
Charmy, the big line at the BEP was people waiting for the Treasurer, Rosa Rios, to sign the new 2009 dollar bills. My son and I each got one. Several of my Pages were paid by dealers to stand in line for them. I have some photos to post later, right now I need to head into the final day! Richard
I am in the hotel lobby right now. Great show so far, mostly running around, but still fun. Nice to finally see the faces behind the names.
Another few photos - these were taken by Jerry/Yellowkid and are MUCH better than mine! This is Bill, Rick, me and Jerry Mark, Jerry, me and Todd Jerry and me! So, here it is Sunday morning and I'm back home with the newly dubbed "Mr. Penny Lady" who I missed terribly, and our cute little spoiled Siamese kitty who is meowing up a storm. It's going to take me a day or two to get back into a normal sleep pattern, but here's a recap of our last day at the Boston ANA.... I got up early Saturday morning to attend a WIN (Women in Numismatics) meeting, then it was off to the bourse floor. Todd has been so wonderful getting my booth up and running each morning, since he always arrived earlier than me - guess his "clean" living is more conducive to early rising than my nightly carousing is! Ok, Todd, don't let it go to your head, you still have to overcome that insubordination thing! The day just seemed to fly by. Several more forum members stopped by and it was great chatting with them. Todd has been working like crazy all week to get everyone's photos done and their coins back to them before the show ends and I've been trying to keep my "blog" up to date and prepare newps to put out, so we both thought Saturday would be a little more laid back - but NOOOO, it was crazier than ever! Everyone wanted Todd to take just a couple more photos, so he worked like a dog to get them all done, and to also get mine done before I had to get to the airport (Todd's plane didn't leave until Sunday morning). And more dealers and public kept coming to the table to try and make some last-minute purchases, or to sell what they had bought - which, of course, is a good thing and the main reason we are there! Also, since I'm on the kids' Treasure Trivia tour, we had lots of kids stop by which also kept us busy. By Saturday, I was pretty much done buying coins since I was well over my usual spending limit (especially since I got a beautiful 1856 PF55 Flying Eagle), but then a nice young man from Northern Nevada Coin (who I bought the 1877 PCGS MS65 RB from on PNG day) brought this absolutely beautifully toned 1909-S vdb to my table since he knew I was crazy about pretty toned coins. Wow, it is so gorgeous, in an old PCGS green holder, MS65 RB. So I countered his offer, but was told I needed to deal with head hauncho Allen. He was gracious enough to give me a slightly better price, though it was still higher than I wanted to pay, but in my opinion, well worth it. I wasn't looking to upgrade my 1909-S vdb since the one I have is quite pretty, but I just couldn't resist this eye candy piece for my own set! :heart; Pics to come later..... So I finally pack up around 4pm, get to the airport, have my usual pre-flight beverage (though since I was told my flight would take 6 hours instead of 5 hours to get home, I bumped it up a little and had a shot of Patron!). Then I head to the gate, only to find out my flight is delayed 2-3 hours because our plane was stuck in Aruba! Geese, as it was, my flight wasn't getting into LAX until 10pm (west coast time) and now it would be closer to 1am, and then it's about an hour drive from LA to home, so poor Mr. Penny Lady had to stay up another few hours just to pick me up at the airport. One good thing was, though, I ran into another dealer at the bar who just happened to have bought a bunch of nice copper at the end of the show, so we wheeled and dealed at the bar over a good strong cadillac margarita, and I came home with some MORE copper! I'm sure the Patron and Cadillac didn't have anything to do with all that copper looking pretty good to me!
Charmy 4 1877, an 09vdb and the elusive 1856 flying cent all in one show? Congrats pics please I need to ravage all over that copper.

Ricky & Robin: Glad to see that you made it back. Charmy: Nice to finally meet you. Ziggy9: Nice to meet you and Ziggy 9.1
"Several more forum members stopped by and it was great chatting with them." It was very nice meeting you Charmy...seems whenever I go to a table people filter in as was the case when we were talking. The brief moments I had at your table with you was very nice. LostDutchman, Treashunt and Ardatirion, it was great getting to meet you guy's as well. Thanks for leading me around to some tables Frank, the reference books are very nice to have. While I spent most of my time over at the BEP area I am happy to say that when I entered the drawing for 1 of the 100 special prints that were made at the show, my ticket # ending with #55 was drawn and I walked away with # 88 of 100. Will scan and post it later on. I missed talking to PMG as planned due the graders leaving on Friday and being stuck in Maryland late Friday that week...I did speak to Heritage about the unthinkable!! Regards, RickieB
Here is the scan of the Special BEP Printing at the Boston, ANA I won. (Well I say I won..here is how it worked; your number was drawn and you had the opportunity to purchase one of the 100 for $50..so when my number was drawn from the silver bowl..I was eagar to not to let it pass. It's # 88 of 100 printed at the show. These are printed on 100% rag paper and it is moist when taken out and put through the spider press.. Enjoy.. Rick Again, great to meet all of you!
RickieB My son's number was drawn 2 days in a row, in total 9 of my Pages won the right to purchase and were then able to sell that right for a profit. My son was given $50 on the first day and $20 on the second. He was Paging in hopes of getting himself a new computer. Those two wins put him over the top and he ordered his computer today. Richard
Charmy starts the best threads. I am really enjoying this one. Thanks for all the pics and effort to make them available.
Charmy, glad you're home save and sound. It was a real pleasure to meet you as well as Ricky and Robin... I'm really sorry I missed RickyB. Ziggy, I'm glad I met you as well as your son. He's gonna be a great collector. Frank.......Thankyou for the guidance,,,,
