My most recent aquisition. This coin is Certified by NGC in a grade of Mint State 66 a clear contendor for the 'star' This coin I purchased as an NGC Mint State 66. After some consideration, I submitted back to NGC to have the designate it as a 'star' My Final 1938 D is housed in a PCGS Mint State 67 holder. My appologies on the poor quality of images. They are all three very pretty looking coins in hand.
I for one would like to see the reverses...most of (well 50% of it) my thoughts about a coin rests in looking at both sides.
Here are the reverse pictures. All coin display above average toning although not real visible in the pictures. The middle coin showing the reverse (first coin pic in the obverse) is by far the prettiest.
Now what you need is a Double Monticello. Years ago while I was working at the toll booth on a midnight I found one a bit beat up but it was a double. I would grade it only good with cut marks through it. Can't post a picture because I don't know how. Dean 295
Thanks Dean, Great find regardless of grade on the 39 DDR. Im actually looking for a 1939 QDR PCGS or NGC for my set!
