my friend suggested going to a nearby bullion dealer while we were riding around. he didnt find what he initially wanted but we got something alot better. the dealer had gotten some bankroll morgans at $25 each and was getting ready to ship them out to someone who would pay him $30 each. my eyes lit up when i started to go thru the best roll. most of them were 82 S and PL. after alot of looking we got 6 for $180+tax. the 3 i chose were a 79 S and 2 82 S. theyre all PL. some great toning on the first 82 S i picked out. still working on my setup for pics but its getting there. really need to get better lighting. any comments and opinions appreciated.
Nice pickups! Normally I would turn down any Morgan that's toned that dark, but at the right angles, those underlying colors remind me of a black pearl. And not to sound like a blasphemer, but I'm really curious as to how the luster of those first two could really pop if it was quickly dipped.
per morgan. funny thing is that later on a guy who works for the dealer started individually pricing them while i was picking out a third (we made 2 trips). those 3 could easily have been priced around twice what i payed.
