I was wondering if there is a mast amount of people hoarding and saving these pennies? What are your thoughts on the investment potential of these pennies many years from now? And also your input on the Westward Journey Nickel Set (2004-2005)? Thank you! Your input is appreciated!
Collect 'em 'cause you like 'em Fishing_Guru, but please don't invest in 'em. Numerous as stars in the sky.....
I've got a whole bunch in the safe deposit box and thats where they're gonna stay for the next couple hundred years or so lol. I collected 'em because I liked the idea. Loved the design on the first and last but not the middle two. Like Green said, numerous as stars in the sky..... (Btw if anybody has any LP4's in bank rolls I am still lacking on those.)
I have about 4 or 5 rolls of each, but only cause I havn't sold them yet. Too many people are saving them to make them valuable in the future IMO...
Not the best investment out there, but I put a few rolls of each away. Probably will cherry pick them someday for high grades and errors. Even though they're a fraction of the usual mintage, there's still a lot of them and a lot of people put them away. If you can afford them, the lower mintage satin finish ones would seem to have better potential.
The Lincoln BiCentennial Coins are destined to the same future that the Eisenhower/Kennedy/Washington BiCentennial coins currently enjoy.
I don't think they'll be worth much in our lifetimes. I, like many here, saved a few rolls of each just to give to grandkids someday. Even today if you give a kid a common wheat cent or indian head cent they're in wonder, and the same will happen with the 09's. There may have been a boatload minted, but 60 years from now they won't have been in circulation for decades and new generations will have never seen them except for in books, so the novelty factor will grow as time passes. Guy~
don't waste your time, fishing_guru, these coins are WAY TOO COMMON! trust me, those pennies are the only ones that I find in change.
