Picked this up a couple of days ago. It's an 1882-CC Morgan in a GSA holder. Probably MS62. It's a VAM 6A. There are at least six clashes on the neck and part of the N from IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse.
Nice one!! That is the only date of a CC Morgan I have....1882CC...if I understand right its the one that is the cheapest in lower grades.... How rare is a VAM6A??? Speedy
I only have two CC Morgans. Wait, it sounds better if I say that I have twice as many as you! The VAM update has this info- 6A III26 C3a (Doubled Date, Clashed Obverse n & s) (178) I-3 R-5 Obverse III26– Strongly clashed dies with partial incuse n of In from reverse shows faintly next to Liberty head neck and faint partial incuse s of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. R-5 means Rare, Several Thousands. Not extremely rare, but I like the multiple clashes and needed an 82-CC for my set.
What???...what happened to your Morgan collection?? If I remember right you found some new VAMS?? Speedy
I only have two Morgan dollars from Carson City. The rest of my Morgans... I refuse to answer on the grounds that my wife would shoot me.
Ah...2 from CC...I really have a total of 6 Morgans but only 1 CC.... Thats a good reason....don't let your wife around the guns....a lady with a gun might be baaaaaad Speedy
