Hi there, Wondering if any of you can help. I am a third year student studying a Degree in Graphic Design currently researching for my dissertation. It is focusing on the Dutch Guilder (more specifically the most recent until became redundant) and how its design became a benchmark within currency design. Does anyone know anywhere I can get detailed information on the Guilder and its designers. Do you know which mint they were produced in? Secondly, does anybody know how I could get hold of some of these notes? Any help would be great Cheers George Adams
The Dutch central bank has a list of exchangeable NLG notes here: http://www.dnb.nl/betalingsverkeer/guldens-inwisselen/overzicht-in-te-wisselen-biljetten/index.jsp Small images, but some info about the deadlines etc. The designer of many Dutch notes back then was Robert "Ootje" Oxenaar. Some links about him: Wikipedia article (nl): http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ootje_Oxenaar YouTube video (en): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5BlybJGiiU Article about Oxenaar's designs (en): http://www.creativereview.co.uk/cr-blog/2007/february/the-money-maker (Yes, this is another pretty old topic. But the links may nevertheless be interesting for some.) Christian
