Ummm....speedy, you may want to go to www.mrbrklyn.com and learn a bit about Ruben before you continue to :desk: How do you "know" Ruben is new to ebay? Secondly, if you read carefully, the seller has refused to ship the item without signature. That implies no money has been spent on shipping yet so please drop the "spending extra to protect you" bit. Speedy, I like what you have to offer to this forum, usually very helpful and knowledgeable, but man, you've gone from helpful to argumentative on this one. I know KY has a few horses in it so I'll drop this cliche on you "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink". and in light of a recent sad anniversary this one: "Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be."
I'm going by FB #..... From the way Ruben says...he hasn't even sent the money yet... Sorry about this...I'll let it drop...I think I'm trying to get him to think of the seller... Speedy
Is this real? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8363864832&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWA:IT&rd=1 I don't like what appear to be self-serving certificates of authenticity. I am looking to buy a nice (the best I can find) "CC" Trade dollar with chops marks but am nervous about this one.
Well I hope you know that SGS isn't the best grading Co....in fact its not good at all. Most of their coins they grade PF/MS70.... I don't see anything that looks fake to me...also seems to be a good price for what I've seen them go for. Speedy
You don't like this one DRM is Theft. Congress must pass a law which will protect the property of every owner of a computer and purchaser of Digital Information by outlawing anything which prevents the full enjoyment of their property. We don't need prior aproval of Warner Brothers, Jack Valenti, or Barry Sorkin to use our computers to augment our enjoyment of our property. There is no forced contract to a cash sale. Forcing a contract on the public which they didn't negotiate as equal partners is a form of slavery no free citizen can put up with.
The problem here is that there is NO third party guarantor of genuineness. The seller is the owner of the grading service. I don't know enough about authenticating US trade dollars to form an opinion on this one, but I have seen fake Japanese TDs in SGS labeled slabs.
Thanks for the comments - I'll take a pass. Not worth the risk and the seller seems to be playing games with grading on his "house" certificates - lots of MS70, etc.
OK - so this was my first thread and it was 2 months after joining. So i read the forum for 2 months before asking any questions or making any comments. I was so green back then, but i still don't see any obvious wear on that coin
Well, that one gentleman’s complaint sort of sent me looking to see what was the beginning since I can't even remember anymore. I do like flying eagles and I was sorry to have lost the great cleaned one I had.
