Found this in a bargain bin, purchased for $7, not a big deal, just about worth the silver. I imagine that whoever put it in there saw the reverse and just junked it. I bought it just on principle as a barber, then got to looking at it. It is for sure an 1892 or 3 and almost positively an S. Just the shape of that last digit has me leaning towards an 1893 S. Not a bad find in the bargain bin, but I'd like to get some expert opinions on it. Thanks guys.

I'd lean towards 3, but I sure wouldn't swear to the mint mark.

I think its a 2, not sure about the mintmark. Maybe an S.

Lets keep it even steven. I am guessing a 2. Can't make out enough of the MM to guess there.

Sorry guys, not trying to lead you astray. I was sure of the coins ESSness for the MM when I posted. You can see the serif and loop of the upper half of the mm in this closeup.

Man, you can pick up a nicer looking Barber Half in a junk bin than I can a Barber Quarter at my local coin shop for the same price!

Doug wins. I overlaid the date with pictures from Heritage. The 2 does not work, but here is the 3.

Nice overlay, what tools did you use to manage that?
