Wondering if it looks cleaned/polished to you? Or if that's original luster. Any idea of grade? I have comparison pictures to correlate with grades but with the flash its hard to narrow it down for me. I still got the newb eye.

LMK all you pros, thanks for your time.

Whats the difference in PCGS grading as to say another companys grading. Would a PCGS MS 63 = a NGC 63 etc etc.?

Coin is on its way to me as we speak so ill have more quality pictures from my cybershot once it arrives next week.

IMO Pcgs is harder on some coins than Ngc but then Ngc can be harder on some coins more than Pcgs. But the answer should be yes a 63 at one should be a 63 at the other

contact marks quite a few of them though seems to be a significant amount of luster the first part to show wear on the WLH is on the leg though from them pic's I see none though it has to much light. Once you get better pic's should be able to get a better grasp.

what about the rim/edge of the coin? how much does this go into the grading?

Not to be negative, but if that's not your pic and it's the seller's, it's usually a bad sign if the pic is over exposed like that, as it hides problems.

Thanks for being honest, its what counts in America today...

Its coming in a red velvet bag too ;)

Heavy rim damage will result in the coin being body bagged. Generally if it's significant enough it may lower the grade a point or two.

Could we get a full on picture of the obverse? I think it's more important than some close-ups. It looks like a nice coin though! Close call with the shady pictures :)

    Reverse or obverse?

Ill get some tomorrow. I was trying to show the obvious stuff that I saw, otherwise its pretty nice.

Till holding this coin in my hand I did not know there was an initial below the eagle marking the "artist" of the artwork cause its always been rubbed off on the half dollars i got

That coin is beautiful. I was unable to locate a single rim ding. I didn't even see any contact marks. It looks like there is no wear whatsoever on the feathers nor any part of the obverse. Looking at the ANA grading book I would guess MS-65 or better. I have heard that some grading companies will take points off for toning, but I think that the mild toning on your coin enhances it's flawlessness. The only down side I see is that it is a common date coin and not much of a premium even at a high grade.
Please take my opinion with a grain of salt because I am relatively new to this grading game. If you do not plan on sending it in for grading then at the very least put it in an Airtight !

Ive seen similar coins toned and with obvious flaws and still rated MS-63 or higher. So IDK I was thinking of sending it in to PCGS just for fun, that way its officially graded. And it was put into a airtight after taking those pictures.
