Ah yes! I understand that. Thanks. And I too don't care for the thread by the comments voiced prior. I didn't vote nor for myself and wouldn't want this distinction if I had been voted for in this capacity. I'm one of the next in that line after you not caring about my popularity here. :thumb:
I believe Evorlor has probably learned that there are a lot of cranky people on coin talk these days that will find insult in the silliest of threads just so that they can blow up on someone. Nothing Evorlor has done in this thread was insulting in anyway and I believe the attackers here should be ashamed of themselves. If you do not like the thread than just click one that you do like...
Don't act holier than thou criticizing others in your own way just follow your own advice, "If you do not like the thread than just click one that you do like..."
Whoooaaa there horse...where in the world did this come from?? Please let me be the first to say that I have learned from studying books by Hessler, Friedberg, Chambliss, Schwartz, Bowers, and Journals like SPMC "Paper Money", Bank Note Reported, P. Huntoon, Benny Bolin, Fred Reed III, Don C. Kelly, Johnny Banknote, Treasurehunt, Mark Hotz, Robert Kverderas, Martin Gengerke, and many others like them. I must say that I am not a teacher, but a mere student who has interest in sharing what I have learned from these great men. This poll should be about those who came before us who did the leg work and built the foundation. These are the ones who should be mentioned. While flattering, please do not confuse me with the likes of the men mentioned above. If asked today, I would vote for Mr. Gene Hessler who's works have left me in awe of a mans life and what he has accomplished. I encourage you all (those interested in Paper Money) to read Hey, Mr. HornBlower! (Hessler) Then start another poll with all the above mentioned names and about 50 to a hundred more I left out! Regards, RickieB
Pathetic? Far from it, for it is what it is, an apt rebuke and the table turned on your own egotist insinuation that you're above this and the rest. Were you to have followed your own sermon you would have certainly refrained from initial comment. Successive comments placed undermine your position to the contrary. Glad you can at least laugh at yourself given your position of enjoying such a miserable thread.
Well, why wait to repeat yourself. Did you really think this topic wouldn't come to something like this eventually? You might as well close this thread as you did the other 'Best of' contest/poll thread. Besides the point that the other one violated a money prize rule, this thread is equally a type of insult or danger to the peace of the forum community and ought to have been shuddered in tandem with the other thread before it reached this point. This was my concern the day this thread went up and more to the point of why I questioned why it wasn't closed a few posts back. These threads are lures for snarky, off-topic comments and in a part of the forum supposedly reserved for coin-chat, a topic wholly untouched in this discussion. Why wasn't this moved to GD. No one thanked Peter by voting for him, he who provides this forum almost in its entirely apart from some donations... Really. Has anyone thought of that? Those of us on the poll openly deflected wanting to have been put there by an inexperienced and careless member, the OP who might better have just praised select members personally. The darned thing is just rife with issues.
Honestly for me, the greatest teacher is Archie Kidd. Archie Kidd is, in my opinion, the most knowledgeable person on silver art bars, especially '70's silver art bars. His silver art bar price guides are very valuable tools for me to gain knowledge about my silver art bar hobby.
Tell ya what krispy - you let us worry about threads to close and we'll let you worry about your opnions.
