It's a good pickup. You KNEW you had three type 1s minimum and a shot at glory.

I should be getting them tomorrow (monday at the latest). I will post a closeup of the coin, good or bad....in joy or in sorrow.

I agree with both panda and johnny. All 3 are 1917.

are you only talking about the ones dionhurst posted, or are you also including the original one that I posted in that analysis?

    Oh, ok.
    that's the plan!
Anyways, here is the one that I found in this type of lot about 5 months ago after I submitted it to ANACS. I'm hoping to give my "fair" lady a "poor" little sister...

Lot came in today....Time for RESULTS!

Received today, and I'm grinning from ear to ear!! :hail::hail::hail:Here are some better pictures. Also in this lot, I got an AU 1918-s(wasn't expecting that), and a VG/F 1927-d!

Thanks guys. I'm still stuck between PR-1 and FR-2. It is stronger than all of the PR examples I've seen, but weaker than most of the FR-2 examples I've seen....so I'm thinking 1.5 or so. If it slabs PR-01, I'm sending it in to CAC! ;-)

junk lots on ebay! Now it appears that I've gotten "lucky", and part of that is true; but I have scanned thousands and thousands of slqs in these 40 coin lots, and have seen hundreds of dateless type 1s, and these were the only 2 that I saw that I was fairly confident were of the 1916 die origin. It really has a whole different look than the 1917 imho, and some even divide the 1916 and 1917 type 1s into 2 different types...it's quite easy to spot from across the room all the way down to the PR level of wear if you know what to look for.

Treasurehunt: Is it still your opinion that this is a 1917 with the updated picture?
