Rare coin (as I suppose). 1/12 of a shilling 1909, bronze, mintage - 180000 pcs. Edward VII. The only circulation of this type.
I've always liked coins from both Jersey and Guernsey. The small mintages are always a draw for me. I also love coins from Island nations. I'm also drawn to colonials, though Jersey and Guernsey aren't technically British Colonies, close enough to scratch that itch.
A 1/52nd of a Shilling with a bit of "character": This is probably as good a place as any to put in a plug for Harold Fears site: http://jerseycoins.com/
Siberian Man, you put up some of the best posts on this site. I may not always comment on them but I read them all. This post is just another example of what I'm talking about. Thanks for post this and all the others as well. They are all very informative and interesting!! :thumb:
1/12 of a shilling 1933, bronze, mintage - 204000 pcs. Coins of this type were minted at 1931, 1933 & 1935.
I have a lucky day today! I've got a rare coin for a cheap price: it's a coin from the Jersey Island. One twenty-fourth of a shilling 1913, bronze, mintage - 72000 pcs only. Grade: XF. Price in Krause for XF - 12 $ and more. But I've got it for 4 $.
And the second one. Two new pence 1975, bronze, mintage - 750000 pcs, Queen Elisabeth II. I've got it for 65 cents.
