Check out this listing and the bid history. My max bid was $301. Who can be the first to tell folks what makes this coin special? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280539856129&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m570.l1313%26_nkw%3D280539856129%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
That's what folks say about this seller but I'm just looking at this one coin. The seller did not know what it was and it cost him some bucks at what it sold for.
Excuse my ignorance, but mintage figures of the 1857P SL Quarter was 9,644,000 pieces. So what does it have to do with the philly mint?
Because that was the price someone was willing to pay for it....the same reason any coin sells for what it does. Guy~
