is this an errorin 1942D 1cor what? when I make a comparison between the 1942D , I found that : the space between no.4 in the date & D in pic.1 is wider than in pic.2 !!!
Mintmarks were handpunched into the working dies back then. Due to the human element involved the locations of the mintmarks varied within a prescribed allowable area. What you have is two 1942-D Cents that were struck by different dies on which the mintmark locations vary slightly. That is not an error.
The mint marks were hand punched until the mid 80's. Prior to that, they could and did wind up nearly everywhere.
The coins have no premium above the value of a common 1942-D Cent in that condition, if that is what you are asking.
