Thanks Good idea. I think I will go thru all my missing coins and see what to get next. I do not possess a decent camera, so I cannot. All I have is a basic scanner and an Iphone. Actually, I think I will go thru my collection and grade all of my ungraded coins!
Actually, you have no excuse... make do with what you have around yon and as always, READ plenty: Cheap Coin Photography
Like a broken record...read. I never have this problem because I don't even have much time for my hobbies anymore, thanks to work. I guess if you have an empty time problem I envy you. I'd kill for a few days where I didn't have anything to do Guy~
You could try to cut the grass in all your free time... or maybe even your neighbors for a few bucks, with which to buy some books, Air-Tites or even a camera you consider "decent". :thumb:
No we are not discussing that. You brought up the topics yourself, myriad examples of how better to utilize your time were offered and many options for optimizing your limited means were too, only to be met with excuses for why you could not, would not or when at a lack of replies imply others were trying to debase you from that which you constantly shrug off, namely how best to use the time to learn about numismatics, to read, to photograph and to earn the means by way of opportunities seen through perspective and the experience of others, money with which to grow your collection and knowledge.
Jack TRUTH IS Krispy......That's the "Jack" guy. and the line referred to. Actually, having spent 5+ Yrs working with "The Crotch" (Those that belonged will know)~ So, yes, today I'm hiding inside from the oppressive weather, louping some cents and trying to learn more about my new laptop which seems to be watching me. So, here is to a hot summer day, Jack, and the TRUTH be known~it's really Cranberry Juice for my Grumpy Old Men parts.
While I wait for money from my next paycheck to buy silver art bars, I will take another look at my silver art bar price guide to study and look at silver art bars. I will also lurk and ebay to study winning bid prices on some '70's silver art bars. Most of the time, I will just do other things such as read a novel. I will also spend time posting on another forum called gold-silver.us. In other words, I do not get bored but I also do not spend every waking hour on '70's silver art bars. I do other things that will occupy my time in a constructive manner.
I take pictures and catalog my collection as I slowly add it to my web site www.silvercoinworld.com if you care
Don't have that problem, even though I spend way too much time on coins, it seems I never have enough time to do all I want with them and tend to other hobbies and responsibilities. I do search for and buy high value coins, but that's kinda the end of that, not much to do with them, except inspect them in the safe deposit box now and then. The other part of my collection that sits and waits for time/attention are the less valuable coins that I buy in quantity and need to be sorted for grade. The coins waiting at the moment are thousands of satin finish coins that I want to cherry pick for the higher grades - looking at them it seems a daunting task that could take years, given my time restrictions.
Also, I know its no fun to go to a show and not be able to buy anything but if there is a local show you can attend... make sure you do... you can get a chance to see some good stuff there. I also might recommend looking around for a local coin club to join... get to know some local like minded folks.
Well im outta a job and outta money... But i just spent 4 hours on the official mint site alone. Reading is what got me where i am so im gonna keep it up
