1942-S Nickel die crack + defect?

you can clearly see a die crack and then a loop shape on the "S" I just want to know if it's just pmd or something else.

The loop looks like a gouge in to the coin, where something sharp has struck it. Nice die crack though.

 

die crack is pretty cool, but the loop is, in my opinion, pmd.

 

Very cool die crack. Ive seen people sell these as '$' nickels since it resembles a dollar sign.

Appears to be a very minor RPM or mechanical doubling?

 

yeah saw that part you pointed too not sure what to make of it as it is so tiny

 

In regards to war nickels. RPMs are very common; Coneca recognizes hundreds of different RPMs throughout the war nickel years. Regardless it is a pretty sweet nickel!
