So after viewing alot of different sites ive just decided to purchase my air tites from the company itself, since they have a discount going on right now, my question is i want to get the white ring holders, and it looks like they come put together in the holder already, my question is do they really come put together already in the red holder or does it like like it? This is a picture from the manufact's. site:
No it's not together. Once they are pressed together the seal has been made. If you have to pry it open, then you have to toss it in trash because they never seal properly once opened.
Umm... I disagree with ya there BadThad. Air Tite Holders can be opened and re-sealed. The holders are not 100% "air tight". Once you close a coin in the capsule if you need to reopen the capsule the easiest way is to carefully insert a razor blade or thin knife like an X-acto type blade in the edge and gently pry the capsule open until you can get a fingernail under the edge. You can reseal and reuse the capsule with no issues. It's not a one time use thing, nor is it necessary to toss them out after they have been opened.
they come with the 2 parts facing opposite and the foam in the middle. i use my nail when i have to take them apart. some of them seem quite close to 100% air tite while others are easy to pull apart. i had one crack at the side as soon as i put it together so id call it a quality control issue but it still looks better then most other forms of storage.
Like krispy said, the AirTite is not trashed. What happens is that a partial vacuum is created if you put the two halves of the AirTite together with no coin inside, and it is easily opened with an X-acto knife. Chris
I agree, I have closed and re-opened Air-Tites many, many times. And it doesn't change or alter them one bit.
Sorry, but the seal is not nearly as tight as the original seal. It's easy to tell because once opened, they go back together too easily. If you want a full seal, you have to throw it away once used.....I stand by my statement 100%. Don't make me go into the lab to prove my point.
The reason they seem to open and close much easier when there is a coin inside is because all of the air has been displaced by the coin, and there is no internal "suction" making it harder to separate the halves. Basically, it's the same principle used for the self-adhering hooks with the rubber base that you stick to the refrigerator or shower wall. Chris
Yea, what's in it for me besides the satisfaction of proving you guys wrong? I want compensation for my time damnit!
Proving me wrong ? Good Lord, according to some people that's better than winning the lottery What better compensation could there be ?
He is right. There is no better feeling! Get to the lab. I speak for myself and everyone who agrees with me when I say, I would like to see the official lab results instead of taking everyones word.
Just sit down and do it yourself. You'll see with your own eyes. Aint no better proof than that ! But Thad, Thad is a scientist. Strange thing about those guys, they always seem to have to be in a lab before they'll believe anything. Too bad they can't be like Issac Newton , all he needed was an apple tree out in a field to prove the most significant law of the universe ! A lab - bah humbug
But old Evorlor is broke and doesn't have any airtites to perform the experiment! That is why I need Isaac...I mean Thad, to prove it!
I've already figured out how to setup and run the test, but it's not going to happen for awhile. I'm far too busy for the next couple of weeks. I still think you guys need to ante up something for me. Do you guys realize how much lab and chemist time is worth?
I kinda agree a lil with bad, i mean when it comes in the original red package and you snap em together for the first time, thats your best result, but if you re use them you will get a little bit less performance, it isnt trashed, but just not as good as the first seal.
