    Hi all,
I live in the DFW area & am wondering who y'all recommend for shops/dealers in the area? I have a pretty good eye for what I'm looking for (grade, etc) but don't want to buy from someone only to later find out that my purchase has been cleaned, etc. I'm inexperienced in that perspective & was wondering what shop(s) I can trust.

We're fosusing primarily on Morgans, Peace and Walker Halves. I'm leary about where to begin buying these...would prefer somone local but I guess we wouldn't be adverse to someone by mail but again, not knowing who is trustworthy is making me a bit nervous.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know if you will get the list....ND hasn't been on this forum for a long time...
I would suggest going to the ANA Site and looking for dealers in your area.

EDITED--political comments should be posted in the "Politics, Religion and World Events Forum" not the Coin Forum.

If anyone knows if there are shops a little farther south (Waco, Temple, Bryan, etc etc) please let me know because Ive been unable to find one anywhere near where I live.

hmmm, my dad grew up in Robinson (suburb of Waco, kinda) it's a small world, huh! It's been a long time, but I know that my grandpa did have a pawn shop that he would routinely buy from, but I have no idea what it was called and that was 35-40 years ago anyway, so it certainly could be out of business by now. My grandpa was from Michigan and was a collector of Canadian coins so the dealer would always dump his Canadian stuff on my Gpa, since there were few Canadian coin collectors in Central Texas in the 1960's lol. That collection was sold a number of years back (before I cared enough to ask to see it), but my understanding is that it was quite a collection.

If you would like a list from ND he can be found on www.coinforum.org

He is one of the main posters there and he is a great guy (from my experiences with him in online forums), his leaving this forum was a great loss.

Well, I am a Texan, proud to be so, and meant that as a joke. But sometimes jokes don't translate well in text. My apologies.

What a small world! I live in College Station (about 45 minutes south of Waco) and the only coinshop in town closed when the owner died rather suddenly (he was a very nice man, it was a shame he died so soon) so now Im kind of stuck waiting for the coinshows that are every 3 or 4 months or buying things off ebay.
