I have a certified ANACS 1 cent 1955 DDR PF63 RED ( DBL DIE REV) could someone tell me what it might be worth?
For the 1955 Doubled Die in PR 63, you're looking at about $6 to $10. If you had a regular business strike in MS 63 DDO, you would have a coin in the $2000+ range. I checked Heritage Auctions for the price. You can go to www.ha.com and look at the same list of coins. You'll need to register, but that's free. Ben

Sorry Sarah, but you don't have the $2000+ coin. DDO refers to "Doubled Die Obverse", or the front of the coin is doubled DDR refers to "Doubled Die Reverse", or the back of the coin is doubled.
O and R make ALL the difference. The 1955 DDO is one of coins that most collectors dream of. I didn't know of the 1955 DDR until I saw your question. I was hoping that it would be something good too, so I could tell you that you were rich, but it must be a common variety. Sorry about that. Ben
1 cent US 1955 DDR I did find one on ebay for $3000 but his type #4 mine is the best at type # visiable doubling the reverse.
Most of the 1955 Proof Doubled Die Reverses listed in Wexler and Flynn "Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents" are listed in PF 63 from $100-175. They list 4 separate DDR dies, and a 1955P-1DR-002P ( CONECA 4-R-II) which is coupled with 1955P-1DO-004P doubled die reverse, so you have doubled die on both sides ! Coppercoins.com lists only the last one. I can't tell from your photos which die # you have. Maybe you already know. Jim
I found one coin listed as sold at Heritage Auctions back in 2006 with both DDO #4 and DDR #4 in PR 65 Red *ANACS Graded* that sold for $25 including the buyers premium. http://coins.ha.com/common/view_item.php?Sale_No=26094&Lot_No=11324#photo The seller on eBay seems to be trying to imply that the Proof coin and the Business Strike are worth around the same price and both are very rare. It's only the Business Strike that demands the price in the thousands. The PR-63 Red is a common coin. The MS-63 Red is a rare coin. The wording in the eBay ad say that the MS-65 is worth $13,000 and YES it is. He doesn't state what the PR 63 is worth. His coin shouldn't sell for more than just a few dollars. I wouldn't pay $50 for the PR-67 and NEVER would I pay $3000 (but that's just me.) I would pay MAJOR cash for a 1955 DDO in MS-65, but I could never afford one. Don't let his sale fool you, it's not listed as that rare of a coin in the coin price guides, but at a PR-67, it is a good coin. Ben
