All those dimes were minted and are sitting somewhere, at some point they will be released. It was explained to me the following way- Normally the coins are released throughout the year and there never seems like a shortage. Over the last couple years more people have had money struggles and have rolled/turned in coins that were sitting around. These coins fill up the needs at the local banks and the banks don't need to order coins to be delivered. (true or not, who knows) One place this seems to be true is with the half dollars. After going through 1K of half dollars I have not seen any of the years 2003-2009. Until the current coins get worn out or more people start filling piggy banks we might notice it hard to find current year coins.
I had ONE roll of '09-P Jeffersons. Got it at face, sold it for $36...couldn't get anything near that now. I had NO intention of holding this roll...got in, got out. With the MILLIONS minted (doesn't matter if we are talking Jeffs or Roosies, P or D mint).....the big money per roll has come and gone. These WILL hit circulation, no doubt. I hope the OP puts them on the 'bay...I'd hate to hang onto them and simply have a box of Roosies worth face value. The only saving grace would be to have an MS68FB in that box.
