I looked at the pop report and there are 39 higher than mine, including some MS68s. Seems there is a lone 68+ example reigning at the top of the pops.
I also gave it a 9. It's tough for me to give anything a 10.....except for my wife of course. (just in case she reads this)
Yours is exceptional! Here is my toned 1914E that is more in the XF range. I really like the details of the eagle on the shield of the eagle, and other intricate design features.
I've always enjoyed seeing the German coins designs, especially the earlier ones. Lots to look at. I gave it a 10.
Glad this made it into your eclectic box! Another interesting tidbit is that this coin came from a group of 2-3 sealed original rolls that a dealer bought and sent them all in to be graded. I think in the original rolls submission there were 2 or 3 MS68, maybe 15 or so MS67 and MS67+ and a bunch of MS66's. I hand picked this piece and 2 others out of the entire submission and actually think it was nicer than the MS68's.
