Finally, Shield Pennies in Western NY

Received it today in change. Been keeping my eyes open for some of them.

If it makes you feel any better I don't see many in NYC... have only found maybe two one cent shield coins in circulation to date.

 

I've been to most of the banks around here looking to get some rolls at face, no one has any as yet.

 

I haven't inquired at too many branches, but their lack of appearances in circulation would suggest they're still sitting in a warehouse somewhere, maybe until 2011 rolls around... then I can get the previous years :smile

 

Some of my dealers have the collector rolls from the Mint, for $14.95 per roll.

 

I bet 1 in 10 cents I get in change the past three months have been shield cents. Seems to be no lack of them in these parts.

they are in circulation in abundance in cincinnati. maybe they are traveling west to east?? my mom lives in new mexico and reported shield cents almost 2 months before i saw one.

 

Here in Las Vegas 10 rolls of the last cent box I got to search were new N R String rolls of 2010 D and I have been getting several in nearly every roll I search now. I am even starting to get the 2009 D LP4s. which weren't around for a long time. Just now seeing some 2008 P in the rolls too.
