I do believe what you have there is a modern replica of the original 1834 HT9 Token. The date threw me off a little when I saw it considering that Hard Times tokens were made from 1832-1844.

According to info on:

-this appears to be post-1960 replica.

Not sure the value of the one you have but generally I see them go from $15-$300 depending on grade.

I would disagree with you. I would say it's genuine token in that photograph.

Sorry, my post wasn't very clear. The OP has a pic of a modern replica and I posted a pic of the original token.

 

I think you are right about it being a repro based solely on the date. These should be 1834 not 1824, however in looking at others dated 1824, this one seems to be a superior repro to most. The others tend to be puddly, but this one seems very crisp. Nice find. Not an instant millionaire, but very interesting.

 

I stand corrected. I thought the date was 1834 on the OP's Photo.

 

There are enough of these modern repros to be listed in the book. It is id HT13R, rarity R1 (common) and made of copper coated lead alloy. This is a post 1960 replica, and is valued at $2 in XF and $5 in Unc.
