1948 tell me what kind of error is on this thing.

    I have had this coin for a good 9 years and loved it. I was going to sell it but I am chickening out.

    What is going on here. btw it weighs 2.9 grams.

    do you notice the color, I have multiple wheaties and this one is darker than all of them. I have never seen anything like this. I have searched and I don't know what that is called, the rim or edge, but it is way too big for the coin. It is really a nice coin to look at. Can you believe I got this in change 9 years ago???

    Post Mint Damage. If its an error I would love to hear how that happened during the strike...

    The coin was vandalized outside the Mint.

    that is really disappointing. I kept this coin for 9 years only to find out that someone did this to it. It is still a cool looking coin though.:so-sad:

    It looks like it was in some type of jewelry at some point.
