I’m defiantly a hoarder of any note that is old regardless of the condition. No matter how hard I try I can’t seem to spend a note older than the 70’s. So here is my problem. The other day one of the tellers at my bank gives me all these notes from the 60’s with writing on them. My wife is starting to get mad I have all this cash around the house she can’t spend (not a bad thing). So I’m looking for some validation that these are spenders. Thanks
Spend them You could post them in a classified here for a short while to see if anyone is interested in picking one or more up for their collection. Next SPEND THEM. They are no good to me, personally speaking, with all that writing on them -- not unless they'd been signed by the engravers or something, LOL! Perhaps you should spend them AT a local dealer's shop and buy a nice high grade note or coin for your collection... and maybe you should get something for your wife too while you're out getting yourself something. :thumb:
Krispy love the idea of spending them at the local coin dealer but my wife on her own. I would get the teller a gift for the 1928 but I’m already nervous he might like me.
Anybody have any thoughts on the same writing on 19 of those bills. Were they evidence in a criminal case?
I was thinking: owner or depositors Signature (in the form of initials), a date (possibly date of birth, anniversary, etc.) and banking account number used for the deposit???
I was thinking the same thing. But why would a depositer sign a current dollar bill? Note the two series 1974 ones signed 1-22-75.
I would purchase the $10 star off yah. They're all spenders honestly but I don't want the star to be shreded.
Dont know enough about note to comment as to condition, but I would consider the notes damaged because of the writing on them. Steve
it may be damaged but it could be a decent filler for somebody. i wouldn't spend much over face, buts its worth as much as someone will pay.
