OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH, I got it today! My holy grail of coins, 1913-S quarter.

This came in a group of junk silver $1000 face bag that my dealer bought. It was in the sample handful he pulled and looked at. Needless to say that the rest of the coins will be combed through now. But, when he pulled it, he put it aside and called me. I traded it for 25 morgans (I had approx $20 a coin invested in them) It matches the second die pair in David Lawrence's The Complete Guide to Barber Quarters and has some of the other correct diagnostics. I know it may be only a AG-3 but it has a full clear date and mm and for a coin listed in a minimum of R4 from AG-VG and going up from there it is a great, fabulous, wonderful find. I am thrilled and can't believe my luck, I never thought I'd own one of the big 2 in my quarter album!

Congratulations. I just recently had the same experience when I acquired a 1799 Large Cent. I never dreamed I'd get one.

That's a great find. I'm glad the dealer spotted this coin and rescued it. There is no telling how many rare coins like this one are lost forever when silver prices spike and "junk silver" ends up in the melting pot.
