I'm a sucker for these Chris. I enjoy collecting 'em. Thankfully they don't release the proof and the silver proof sets within one week of each other. Gives me a little time to pay off the "card".....:)

Not yet. I'll grab one when I can afford it though. I plan on getting one of these each year. They work out pretty good for me and I like the sets ok.

I will be getting one of the proof sets and the mint sets next week. I have all of the regular sets of both from 1959 thru 2009, and all of the 1990's silver proof sets. I am trying to work my way backwards now from 1959 but these start to get pricey!!!

Which is the better buy, in your opinion, the proof set, or the uncirculated coin set?

In terms of quantity, the mint set. But it really all boils down to what your priority is. I like collecting all of the sets, but some folks only collect the unc's or silver proofs. The unc's and regular proof sets are priced the same so I can understand your dilemma. If I were a young collector on a limited budget I'd pick the uncirculated set.....:)

For the number of coins you get, I think the mint set is definitely the better value!!

The day the set came out, I got on my computer at 11:55am EST and refreshed the page until noon, and the second that the set came out, I ordered one. Too bad that it hasn't come in yet, though. Could you get some more close-ups or the proof penny, nickel, dime, half dollar, and Native American Dollar for me, green18?
