The slab only a mother could love! (Mercury Dime ANACS)

    I'm tempted to put up a "guess the grade" thread, but I'll avoid the suspense... There aren't many slabs in this condition... instead of a Top-Pop it's a Bottom-Bob:

    So the story is, each of granddad's Whitman Mercury Dime folders had the 1916-D slot filled. The local experts helped identify the two that really had no mintmark and we sent one off to find an altered mintmark, but they were a little busy the day I brought this one in, so they said, "if you wanna be sure, let's send it in." So our 1916-D came back an authentic 1916-S. Graded FR-2 (with no details!!).

    Do you think I can get SGS to call is mint state?

    Does anyone have any slabs graded a "1" from any of the TPGs?

    I can see the S fairly easy, I'll give it a 2.25 with 3***...

    I agree with abe. It's fairly easy to see the top of the S MM in the second picture.
