Anyone try roll searching while mildly intoxicated?. Went through two boxes of halves this evening after having a few daquiris and beers. Found 4 40% in the first box and a Franklin. Second box was a dud. I've got four more boxes to go but I'll save them for another day. I really was willing to let them sit for a few days but the wife insisted that we do a box or two. She thinks that finding a silver half is like winning a scratch off lottery ticket.
Well, Finding silver is kinda like winning on a scratch off but better. You are out NOTHING if you don't. Just don't drink too much while searching because you'll wake up the next morning wondering "did I miss anything?" and end up doing it again.
i don't really drink because of my stomach problems but i have learned not to search or really even handle my coins after i take my anxiety medicine. i am prescribed a pretty high daily dose and am instructed even more if i have a panic attack. lets just say after i take my meds during an attack, i will loose that day! still looking for what i did with this medal my girl gave me. so try not to be under the influence to much or you may let some silver get by your radar. who knows you may find a st gaudens and just toss it back thinking "hey whats this yellow thing doing in my half box"!! the last part has pretty much no chance of happening, but if you are really drunk, you will never really know!
I have a hard enough time reading dates now days when sober, I don't think drinking and searching would be a good combo for me. On the plus side I could find lots of doubled die coins!!
I feel great this morning after my morning bikeride. Time get onto those other four boxes. I will say going through a box with nothing was a little less painful with a good buzz on. Earlier this week I went through five boxes in a row with nothing.
If I was drunk and roll searching, I'd probably execute the idea I've been mulling over in my head... burn the box with the coins in it, so I don't have to rip open all those goddamn rolls. That wouldn't be too good of an idea, though.
I had better luck this morning. One box had a 1964 and a 1968. The other had 17 40%-ers, 2 1964's, and a 1945. I feel somewhat vindicated. I am noticing alot of marked coins. There is someone that keeps putting these stickers that say AUNT CHILADA'S EASY STREET CAFE. Another guy takes a red marker and puts red on the neckline, guess he is a redneck.
Yep, such a waste of time... That $500 in silver I've found, I should just turn it in for face value... yeah right.
You should determine how many hours (and gallons of car gas) you spent to obtain this largesse and see if it is worth the effort. I value my time waaaay above a few buck$ an hour.
Time is a precious but time collecting is priceless. Drink and search, but remember, don't drink and drive....
I do my roll searching at work. The bank I pick up the change from is 1/2 a mile away. The dump bank is on my way home. My additional expenditure is negligible.
Hey man where's the bar? I just sucked 7 margaritas and a 12 pack of Colorado Cool Aid aka Coors. I blew a couple of 1913 V nickels and St. Gaudens $20 pieces on a nice buzz man! My toilet is not looking well after this morning. Just kidding!
I've found rolling it is far better for me than to drink....but thats just me. This is a family orintated site so lets keep it that way Please
I just found 1944 and 1928 wheat pennies from bank roles under the influence of a knock of brand of soda.
