I know that knicks and dings and such can take away from a coins value, but do they make them literally worthless or due they still retain some of their worth. I recently purchased this 1833 large cent for $6.82 including shipping. I buy these type of coins so that my grandchildren will have examples of a lot of old coins when they inherit my collection. There is a cut or a line at the top of the reverse, does this completely devalue the coin? I hope I can get these pictures to post.
I know nothing about this, but I've bought worse looking coins for that price just to say that I have one.
You paid almost $7 for it, so it's not completely devalued. But I doubt you could ever get more than that for it.
