I picked up in a yardsale (for almost nothing) a 1916 10 pfennig coin made of iron. I checked with a magnet to be sure. There is no mintmark. When I looked it up in my old Krause catalog (1994) it just said "rare" where the prices should be. After my blodd pressure settled down I started looking all over the internet for info, but nothing comes up. Anyone have a clue as to a value? The condition is not the best, but clear enough to make out all the words, eagle feathers, date, and the dots around the edge on the eagle side. Thanks in advance for any help.
Thanks, Yacorie, My coin is identical to the one pictured in the link to the "World Coin Gallery", but perhaps slightly better condition. I'm fairly certain it's a KM-20, but still searching for value info.
According to 35th edition of the catalog from 2008, KM-20 without mintmark is tagged "Rare" and is worth 180 in F and 220 in VF. Coins with mintmark are very cheap though, 1.50 to 4.50 in XF.
