Bottom left corner has me worried a bit... the right side is a little flashed out, but looks good.

Is that a scratch on the obverse of the Jefferson? I love the reverse.

Yeah Phill, it is. Not to worry, we're looking for the Bondo as we speak....:)

If bondo doesn't work, try a little duct tape. The color would almost match:)

Jello, where did you hear that 2009 would be the end of Satin Finish? That's a new one on me, although I don't keep up much on modern Mint stuff. I do have a sub. for 10 each of the Mint Sets and Proof Sets.

I am kinda worried about this years mint set. I ordered two and they both look like they went through a change machine. Very disappointed.

Half of mine does too-the Philly one. The Denver set is one of the best I've ever gotten however. So now I don't know whether to return them or not because while I may get a better Philly set it's almost quarenteed the Denver one will be worse.

That's really ashame guys. Years ago you'd just order another one but with the issue price being so high you're almost bound to send the substandard sets back. I count myself lucky with mine as I'm completely satisfied with their condition

1 of my boxes showed up Saturday they don't say Satin Finish but they sure look like they are

I was thinking that nickel looked very sharp too! Could be a contender. Nice!

Even that half dollar with the marks on the obverse?

Bothers me somewhat, but ya know what? It's a mint set and I don't expect a mint set to be perfect. I know lots of folks like to send these in to the TPG'ers and and get 'em back with high grades, but that's not where I live. Guess I'm a little more forgiving than most......:)

I'm not that concerned with how they'll grade as much as I'm bothered by the product Quality Control at the Mint who sends out coins with very obvious marks and/or flaws, from standard old clad Mint state coins to full blow proofs with precious metal compositions.

Also, the half dollar coin you posted sticks out to me because I do buy the half dollar roll sets and care about what they put out to collectors.
