What was the first year Sacagawea were lettered on the edge.

Hey guys, does anyone know what the first year was they started lettering the edge of Sacagawea dollars?

2009 i think

 

2009 is correct. It was the first year that it was called the Native American Dollar instead of the Sac, and it is also the year that I stopped collecting them. The edge lettering looks too amateurish and I prefer the eagle reverse.

There is at least one, I believe it's a 2007 D. It accidentally found its way through the President dollar edge lettering machine.
