I believe that is a button and not a coin at all. The large oval on the reverse would have been where the ring was attached. I have seen several buttons in the past that mimic some of the colonial coins and tokens from that era. I am 99.9% sure that is the remnant of an old button.
Well that clears up the fact for why it doesn't have a date on it. I appreciate the input. I'll just add it with my button collection now, lol.

I noticed it had similarities to the Nova Constellatio minted from 1783-1786. It had an abbreviation U.S without a period after the "S" like Nova Constellatio Patterns. My approximate guess of the date was due to that for basis. It could be older or newer. But I was not able to find another mint group that had the same design. I thought that the center of one side could have possibly been the "Eye of Providence" lol.
