this coin sold for $13,500 on Teletrade one time. How much are ms-70 coins worth?

I'm assuming it has to be a Lincoln penny since there's an RD(red) after the grade.

Wasn't that Lincoln cent downgraded or something?

I missed that in the title, but you are probably right. However, there are 2 MS-70 RD's - SMS and circulation. Price wise, I would hope it was for circulation. That seems extraordinarily high for a SMS. Assuming it is for a circulation coin, there might be 10 MS-70's for all the years put together. Price would depend on how much someone wanted to up their registry.

I think you are talking about the 1963.

I don't collect pennies except in proof and mint sets. Most of my individual coins are older dollars, halves, quarters, and nickels. But my collection is not suffering that desperately for me to break down and add MS/PR-70 anything, when I can get MS/PR-69 or less for more reasonable prices.

PCGS bought the coin back under grade guarantee and downgraded it in 2004.
