I was excited when I saw this but later remembered most of what I find not what I thought. You be the judge, please. The last 2 are best quality pics. I know that the dirt gets in the way a bit but I am afraid to clean it before knowing what it is. MD = Machine Doubling in case you werent aware. Here's what a real 72 DDO looks like http://www.coinpage.com/large.php?tImageId=2770 http://www.lincolncentresource.com/sitebuilder/images/1972ddo1date-257x136.jpg
Machine doubling. There are 12 DDO for 1972 cent. The die #1 above is of course the most prominent, but dies #1 through #8 are all class 1 Doubled dies, and show more doubling along the rim letters than the date. Even the #1, if you compare the doubling of the date to the doubling separation of the "G" in "GOD". The last 4 are interesting also, but not as much doubling nor separation to make them as valuable ( except to collectors trying to get them all) to the general collector. So look for doubling of the letters around the rim as confirmation of # 1-8. Jim
