Here is a link to a 1875CC 20 cent piece---now I understand that the LIBERTY and lady Liberty were kindof high and wore down fast...but is this just good normal wear or has it been cleaned?

The rim looks too good just to be wear but the doesn't look cleaned other than some hairlines and I can't tell if they are on the coin or flip.

Dirt in the stars makes me say cleaned. It looks like it has slide marks too.

Without looking :)D) I'd say cleaned based upon all of your descriptions. Just teasing, it looks to have been cleaned at some point. Probably back during the 60's.

Thanks guys...I couldn't tell if that was dirt in the stars or if it was just the photo...

Bone...I bet you are right...cleaned back when cleaning was "Good!"

I see traces of luster in the denticals and on the reverse, the coin has the look of being original to be, just thumbed a bit from handling as most are, I think the coin is in fine original shape.....

Look closely at the stars at 9 o'clock and 2:30. To me they are the most obvious signs of cleaning. I agree that the cleaning was not recent, but it's still cleaned.:(

    2coins...I don't mean to be rude...but that isn't right.
When a coin is cleaned or dipped one of the things to look for is dir around the letters/date/stars/ and so on around the coin.
Dipping and cleaning doesn't most of the time take the time to go in each letter.

It's a shame that so many old coins are virtually uncollectible by serious hobbyists because of an old cleaning or suspected cleaning.

Hey Cloud....they coins aren't non collectble...they just aren't the pick of the crop....and if I can save back the money I would from buying this one and save for a few months longer I can get an even nicer one in a better grade.
I know each person collects unlike someone else and I'm glad of that...some people like coins with holes...some like cleaned...some like them as good as they can get them

2coins...I hope you didn't take me wrong...
