Is it me or is the Supply beginning to dwindle??

With all the time I have had off I have searched far and wide for specific Series of Small Size Notes in CHCU64 and up....my searches have landed a few notes but the harder notes are still hiding somewhere out there. Over the past few months I have only managed 4 small size and 1 Large Size....what's been your experience?

thats what happens in deflation , the mass are holding on to them, so that reduce them in circulation

 

i havent been collecting as much lately but i have noticed there is less to choose from. hopefully that will change soon

 

I wasn't sure why things seemed to dry up, especially since I'm still new to currency collecting. I guess I noticed it but blamed myself for not searching hard enough, or being unwilling to pay enough for what I was finding or just getting outbid on several of the last serious notes I attempted to acquire. I guess it could be this economy and if it is then at least it's not my dumb luck to start something only to learn I was too late to the table for the goodies. I didn't really take any intentional break from collecting the district notes at all, but this can be a time in which to save and choose wisely when something does come around that piques my interest. There is another recent thread asking members to post their most recent note and I haven't posted anything because I just haven't found anything worthy at the moment to acquire/share. Lately, I have been trying to add a 'numeral' note and that's the sort of piece that I keep getting shot down in auctions. It seems with so many notes printed it's hard to imagine there's not a constant variety to choose from, but they can be elusive while others persistently appear. Maybe its become too tedious and ineffective for dealers and sellers to list more common notes online and have either stopped themselves for now or are selling at shows, retail or in clubs.

 

I've been collecting banknotes for about 16 years now, and I can tell you that for 16 years I've been hearing "the market is drying up, good quality notes are getting harder and harder to find". Now I don't know if the French market is any different from the US market, but I suspect not that different. As more folks get involved in the hobby, the demand for a fixed supply goes up, and less stuff is out there. It's the price we pay for a hobby that's attracting new collectors!

That only accounts for 85% of them ,where are the remaining 15% ? I just bought my first Large Size National and had a hard time finding one I liked that fit in my budget. I seen very overpriced notes still around but that's about it !

 

Pickins have been really slim latley in the Mpc arena as well cant hardly find anything

Are only 6 (Series 681 $1 in PCGS 68PPQ) and (Series 681 $10 in PCGS 68PPQ) Only 4
I will tell you one thing these things dont come cheap!!

 

You got that right Rickie!! Iam working hard in the Series 681 i just picked up some key additions the
$1 Series 681 in 68PPQ and the $10 in 68PPQ which match the highest set but i do have the "Key Note"
The Series 681 $20 in 68PPQ the only one in PCGS population i think the highest set has only a 66

I just need 1 more 68 in the fractional to take over the lead! There are a few but there hard
