Sorry for the lack of *quality* pictures :(. This dime is housed in a PCGS MS 65.

I would expect that coin to sell for about $50.

Hate to burst your bubble but some people on here get a little excited I would expect that coin to bring in no more than $25 and that if it was graded. Its still a very nice coin its just the roosevelt market is dry

From the photo the coin seems to have some serious problems. A lot of little dings on the back of FDR's head and a few distracting ones on the face.

Read the OP. "This dime is housed in a PCGS MS 65."

I seen all of that but its just the sad truth of the roosevelt series. I can post a MS66 i got off ebay that was rainbow toned for 20 bucks. I bought it from rigo actually. When I said burst his bubble i was just refering to the high hopes another member carlessy instilled in his head!!!! Let me say that its a great looking coin and I would be proud to own it. but the truth cannot be denied. Roosevelts get snuffed

I have no disagreement with your pricing, but you said "$25 and that if it was graded." I do not know Roosies well enough to argue one way of the other, but it is graded. That is all I was saying.

With proper photos, there is no reason why that coin could not bring 4-5X wholesale. The fact that you bought a coin for $20 means nothing. Since you are apparently an expert on rainbow toned dimes, tell us how much this coin is worth.

    It was sold on E-Bay.

OK this will be interesting because the rainbow toned MS66 dime I bought from Rigo was actually a 1946 (Ill post a picture when I get home) So today you would get 20ish dollars in 2008 I would expect the coin to sell for $45-55 dollars but as with anything if two people want it and they both have the nuts it could go for moon money. I have been on the seeling end and buying end of that kind of deal.

Seeing all these pretty toned Roosevelt dimes makes me wanna do a MS65FB set or something. That looks like a nicely toned Roosie, but since it lacks FB designation, I'd say $25 sounds about right.

So if the coin sold for double than your guess in 2008, should we expect that the OP's coin will sell for double your guess in 2010. FWIW, I don't consider $90 moon money for any coin, much less that one. You need to learn that pricing rainbow toned coins is very subjective. Telling him that the coin is worth $50 is not careless, it is my opinion. If Zach wants to send me that coin, I know my photo will make it look like a $50 coin. No juicing, no saturating, just a good quality photograph. You are welcome to your $20 opinion, but as you have pointed out, as long as two people think the coin is worth $50, that is how much it will be sold for in an auction setting.

I would say that right now toned coins bring a premium, especially in TPGs.
