Woah...someone on my local CL was trying to sell a "black nickel" from 1975. He said that they were only minted from 1958-1959 and that the fact it was a black it's an error. We tried to explain to him on a metal detecting forum that it's only been in the ground. Please tell me I'm not wrong that it wasn't an error...

 

He's going to believe what he wants. I have pounds and pounds of coins that I've dug up that have toning from environmental damage. I've seen dozens of posts in the coin forums where, even after being told by many members what the poster has, he refuses to believe it and most times, disappears because nobody agrees with him.

I don't even argue about it anymore. It's a losing battle.
