Has the US commemorative coin program for 2011 been finalized yet?

Not seeing anything listed on the US Mint's site yet.

    Commemoratives Page -http://usmint.gov/mint_programs/?action=commemoratives

If you already know of these links, sorry I couldn't answer your question.

I can definitely see a 9/11 commemorative coin for 2011.

See, yes but have you heard of anything? Here's a link from a thread I started awhile ago.

No I have not. However, I said "can" which implies a sense of possibility.

Back to the topic at hand, I did click on your link in the third post of this thread and I found another article based on your article's suggested links that does say the Medal of Honor Gold and Silver coins will be struck in 2011.

Also, I did find another article that lists the upcoming commemoratives from 2010 to 2014.

i am definitely going to get some of them United States Army Commemorative Coins. not only for obvious collecting reasons, but because there is no national museum and the surcharges will go towards that. i hope when they are released i will have the money for the $5 gold..

  10. I am looking forward to the return of a $5 gold commemorative in 2011. TC

I doubt that the US would want to commemorate disasters.

But we could have the 100th anniversary of the
    1912 Titanic sinking.

    :)

True. Every country commemorates their victories in war but I've never seen one commemorate their defeat by someone else.

You mean you didn't get that one when it was advertised on t.v. for $19.95 plus $4.95 S&H?

2011 is going to be an expensive year.

2011 United States Army Commemorative Coins in $5 gold, $1 silver, and 50c clad. Each will be emblematic of the traditions, history, and heritage of the U.S. Army, and its role in American society from the Colonial period to today.

The year will also see 2011 Medal of Honor Commemorative Coins. Featured in both $5 gold and $1 silver varieties, the coins remind Americans of the Medal of Honor and its former recipients.

  15. I hope to get the Army half. Depending on how it looks. I know gold is out due to price and I find their dollar choices severly lacking- I have not gotten one yet since I started collecting in 2008. Hope the Army one is nice and changes that!

I hope the 5 star general coin looks better than this token. Five images on one coin, I just can't get over that idea!! :D In case nobody knows the intent is to place 5 generals on one coin, this will be interesting!

It will probably be so politically correct that they'll all be hugging each other and passing around a piece pipe anyway.

Given what they did to the BSA coin with the girl and all I just don't know anymore and you may be right. T$
