I was on the bay the other night and I picked one of these up. After getting the coin my wife asked me why they didn't put Sarah Palin on the coin. Anyone know or know the history of these T-Dollars? Wasn't this coin out long before there was any Tea Party news every week? just wondering
Well it seems to resemble the Liberty Dollar quite a lot LOL and having just done a quick check it is made by the same folks LOL Here is a link http://www.libertydollar.org/ld/teapartydollar Guy's do try to keep it clean and off the obviouse political aspect of theis token (Hard I know but do try LOL)
there was just a thread about liberty dollars. it was pretty good too, it had some different kinds in silver and copper.
Yeah I think that these were out before the Tea Party started making news on a daily basis. I bought that same 2009 Tea Party Copper round on ebay last year. Here is a picture of mine: I bought it on ebay for $6.99. I bought it in September 2009.
T$ has a thread going in the bullion section that has a lot of good info on them: http://www.cointalk.com/t117995/ TC
It's a Political Token. Here is a satirical one from 1964: President Lyndon Johnson called his programs "The Great Society".
They were definitely out before the Tea Party, interesting! I paid $5.50 on a BIN but the price on these is actually going up as I used to see them for as little as $2.99. TC, if I could have found 's thread I would have just attached my coin. I hate when that happens.
