Once again the Pawn Stars amazed me the other night when a lady came to the shop to sell her $20 1924 St. Gaudens gold piece she found in the safe at the home she had just purchased. she said that she thought it was quite heavy and hoped it would be worth at least $100. Rick looked at it, had his expert come in to authenticate it and give his opinion on grade, which he did and said he thought it was MS64. He said the coin could be worth from $1200 to $5000 depending on how it graded out and the auction she sold it at. Rick then did his thing and explained how expensive it would be to have it graded and auctioned etc. and gave the woman $3000 for it. Remind me to check my safe before I move and make sure I have gotten all the gold coins out!!!!!!:hail:
That sounds strangely like another episode where a woman found a $20 St. Gaudens in the safe of her new home and the fellow from Sahara Coins said it was worth about $18K. Rick bought it for $11K. Do you think they're photoshopping the same coin? Chris
