What would you spend?

It's two days before payday and my wife wants to dig in my change for a pack of smokes. What do I give her? A few Eisenhower dollars or a few Susan B's?

Id say give her a few Susans. I used to use those for the bus a few years ago.

If they are uncirculated, tell her to get a job and pay for her own cigs. If they are circulated, give her the Susie B's. Then, drive her to the local convenience store, taking your mini-cam along with you, and film the transaction when the clerk doesn't believe the coins are real dollars.

I would say if you really have to spend them, send the Susan's. As a smoker myself, I would have a hard time spending either on smokes. Hmmmm, just write a check, postdate it and no coins are harmed to support the habit. We are all winners. lol

 

I gotta admit, that I wouldnt spend either of them...especially if it's for smoking (yes I do smoke). If I can't afford smokes with dollar bills or my debit card then I wont smoke. I dont want to go into my coin collection to buy something thats killing me in the first place (I hope what I said doesnt sound offensive or taken personally..just trying to let you know what I would do)

I realize you are talking about circulated SBA's however I have this amazing toned 1980 or 81 Proof SBA. I hope I can take pictures of it later to show it off.

Unless they are rare dates spend either. I spent some Ike dollars a few weeks ago on hamburgers. I got them at my bank (they save stuff for me). None of them were in really good shape and I have plenty of them.

 

Get rid of all SBAs ASAP. Those are the ugliest coins we've ever made.

 

Give her the boot first. That way, you keep the Ikes.

 

I did give her the boot,now I have more money to spend on coins.

Ikes are huge, therefore worth more, right? Lots of kids would trade 2 or 3 SBAs for an Ike.
