    Found this digging through my dads coins, he wants to sell it, and I have no clue what it's worth. None have been sold in similar condition on Heritage in the past year or two.

    Anyways, onwards to pictures.

    1890 has a 305k mintage and prices F-$90, VF-$150, XF-$360, Unc-$935, BU-$1375... I would personally see it as a Choice VF and say $150 on a bad day and $250 on a Good day! Hope this helps!

    Where'd you get the prices from? RedBook? I've been looking all over the web for a swiss price guide and the nicest one I've found was from 2004.

    My 2 cents

    It look like a strong VF.
    &
    * and maybe a EF-40 with a better photo
    there a lot of detail on the ear & the shield.

    Alright, better pics, including close-up of the shield and face via a 10x loupe.

    Also some other ones that I found alongside this one... guess someone visited Switzerland around 1922-1923. The 2 Franc's are probably AU52-55 and AU58. The 1/2 Franc, I don't know.

    And the 1/2 Franc shot through a loupe...

    I was taking the prices from the 2010 Standard Catalog of World Coins.. and some searches I did to see what similar condition, same year Swiss 5 Francs sold for recently.

    Those Swiss coins had some very classy designs! Nice!

    I'd love to start an MS type set of Swiss coinage... that 5 franc sure would set me back though.

    Certainly were. Now to sell all the ancients and see if I can't make pops enough money to let me keep them. Anybody care to guess a ballpark number for all of them?

    Out of the 2 Francs I like the 1922 only 400k mintage that year XF-$27.50, Unc.-$200.00, BU-$450.00, I would say it is worth slabbing to see where its true value would fall... The 1921 had a mintage of 2 Million, XF-$12.00 and Unc.-$30, really not worth slabbing or fighting the diff. in value, I would just consider it worth $20 at auction with nice pics... The 1/2 Franc 1920 had a mintage of 5.4 Million and is only worth about $3.00 in VF, I wouldn't give or take much from that price on that coin. I couldn't give a group estimate because of the large difference in price on the grade of the 2 Fr. 1922 without knowing if it is in fact Unc., With that one coin not included in my answer I would say $220.00 at auction on a fair day IMHO.

    I just noticed that you feel the Swiss 2 Franc 1922 is in AU, I would round its value off in my collection at about $100 than and hope to pull $80 from it at auction, so my group estimate on a low day would be $260 and on a great day maybe $300.00+, but this is all just my opinion.

    Definitely agree. It's simple, classy, and just... elegant. Beautiful coins.

    I'm gonna start a thread for the 1922 2 Fr... not sure if it's AU or MS, and apparently, there's a huge price jump. If it's AU, it's gotta be AU58... full luster, nicely toned, only shows two very minor spots of rub... you'll see.
