Final count from my penny box I found a 1939 Canadian Penny, 1940 Canadian Penny, 1946 Canadian Penny. 1947D Wheat, 1952D wheat, 4 2009 pennies, and 1 1957D wheat penny, not a great box but I put the 1939 Canadian Penny in a album hole.

WoW ! At the risk of incurring the wrath of Majorbigtime, I am going to say that I have several cents that are heads up. My pennies British coins) are storted in flips and standing on end. LOL

    Searched some more today.

    Box 2 - 2 40%s
    Box 3 - Skunk

$168 dollars in a ziplock bag at one bank that the teller told me had no silver in if thats what I was looking for. I bought it anyway just to clean out the coffers. Ended up finding 22 40%s and 4 90%. I'll be sure to put that bank on my list of must hits. I probably won't ever get a Franklin or Walker from there, but I can live with that. Hit another 8-10 banks that probably had a total of 4 dollars in coins, no silver. I did grab 7 Ikes but not sure why since I always just spend them. It is fun to spend them though

Nice find in the ziplock. I'm going half hunting tomorrow, phone calls and all. I didn't find anything at the two banks that I thought would be loaded. The one bank has airport quality security. One person in the door at a time, metal detector, and the door has to close behind you before you can go through the next door. crazy...

Yep, I thought it was a Canadian at first b/c the Queen on it too. I"m close to Chicago, so I find that stuff out here too.

Did a box of Pennies today. Probably my worst Wheat box yet. Was a Brinks box and very dirty. Found only 8 Wheats, 4 Canadians, and one '73 D which appears to be altered with the image of a small head to the right of Lincoln's face. It's kind of cartoon like but was engraved somehow on the coin. I'll try and post as soon as I get my camera software running on my new computer. Weird coin. Guess just something wierd people do to their coins every now and again.

I did fill up 3 spots in my Penny book though with the Wheats I found:

    1936
    1951 S
    1955 S

Searched the box for pre-'82 Memorial Coppers too. I don't think I will do that again. Took me way too long to go thru the box that way. But I did find that wierd '73 with the guys head on it.

Man, I have a bunch of paper cups on a large office desk. When I go through a box of cents, I seperate the coins by year. Wheats get 1 cup of course. Then the sort moves along pretty quickly, and the copper gets sorted right away.

Didn't get a chance to cash in my halves yesterday because the bank I hit up broke their coin counting machine, haha... So no searching for me today, I don't think. I get paid tomorrow, though, so... :D

Hey Ltrain, I'll be in philly this weekend and was originally thinking of hitting up a few spots but your posts don't have me very excited. I'll let you know if I end up finding anything. I'll be in NE philly from Bristol to Mayfair most likely.

I ordered a box of dimes and 2 boxes of pennies for tomorrow. Can't be bothered looking for halves, I'm getting tired of either 1-2 coins, or nothing, so I'll probably end up calling some more but I don't know. I don't know what to do without my PNC, they are out until friday.

Ok thanks Ltrain, that's kind of what I thought, as far as it being JFK's head. I guess I'll just hold onto it. Maybe give it to my Mom, she's likes things like that.

On another note, the teller at my bank (TCF Bank) told me they will be charging customers in the future who want large amounts of coins if they don't have a business account. He couldn't say when or how many. I didn't ask to see if it was just his branch or all TCF Banks. Kinda gay. Oh well, I guess they will be my permanant dump bank from now on, well until they kick me out...haha.:D

Good luck, but I don't think you'll find much, if anything... most banks around here don't even have CWR's unless they're small, community-based banks or credit unions.

The thing is, nothing is as financially rewarding as halves... If you get a box with, say 2 40%'s and 2 90%'s, that's about 20 bucks in silver. It would take the equivalent of 10 silver dimes in one box to match that.

I don't think they'd ever kick you out. They might not like you much, but they still have to do their job.

Yea, I know Ltrain, but I haven't found any other banks with rolls of halves yet, and I got the last one PNC had on Monday, so there's nothing left. I'm probably going to try to order a box or two tomorrow for next week. I might try TD, I know they have to have some, because of the penny arcade, but I don't know if they can take them out of there. I just need something to keep me busy really. I got a roll of quarters and I found a 65, and 67, and more than half the roll was state quarters.

AND why do tellers always say "why don't you try Bank of America"????

TD won't take change out of their Penny Arcades (Coin counters) but they'll gladly order as much as you want, and I never hav eproblems ordering either. They use Brinks, though, at least around here, so if PNC is using Brinks as well, you'll just be looking through the same supply of coins.

BAC uses Brinks around here too, so IDK why they'd tell you to use them... besides maybe you're a pain in their ass? lol.

I'm probably going to end up with an account with PNC or TD. Either or, because they are both in the same area, so I guess like you said it would be the same as just ordering from one. If Brinks uses wrappers with yellow ends, then they use brinks. The box I got at Wachovia was full of white rolls with tan/brown ends.

I'm running out of banks, nobody has any halves.

I have accounts at TD, BAC, a local credit union, and Wachovia.

    Free checking ftw.

Also, yellow ends sounds like a String & Sons roll... what's the shape of the box? Or have you not ordered a box yet? Brinks come in 5 rows of 5 rolls, stacked on top of eachother, for a $500 box. Rolls are... White with brown, I think? Don't remember offhand.

I need a new CD account. Bank of America is too pushy so I don't know if I'd get an account with them haha, the last time I went in looking for change I ended up sitting down listening to a financial advisor tell me about how much better than Wachovia they are.
