Hey Jello, toning is the one thing that concerns me here. Are the intercept albums successful in keeping the coins from toning?
ODD. After over 60 years of collecting coins and always using Albums since they were invented, I've got absolutely no problems with any coins. Many of the coins I still have from when I started collecting and that was in the early 40's. No tarnishing, toning, corroding, staining or anything. Look as they did back then. No possible way to get a fingerprint on a coin in an Album unless you go out of your way to do that.
For me there the best coin book on the market.but I also use a a dehumidifier in coin storage area too
Your welcome but Doug was right there some coin book are real bad ! them 1st Whitman that came out in the 60+70's were Bad 4 sure
gloves? no one in their right mind uses gloves. you want to hairline your coins? even the tpg dont use gloves
So you wear gloves when you push the coins down into the holes in the album huh ? OK. What's the very first rule about coin collecting ? Answer - never touch the surface of the coin, with anything. So how do you push that coin down into the hole without touching the surface of the coin ? And gloves leave hairines on the coins. Thus you have done harm to your coins by your choice of using an album.
Hmmmm - then how'd push it into the album hole Carl if you didn't touch the coin with your fingers ? And if you touched it, there's fingerprints on it.
I guess I shouldn't tell you that I use dowel rod to jam coins into whitman folders then. None of the coins I have in albums are worth that much. But I should be more carefull.
