I've had this hanging around in my coin box for years.I think it's kinda cool. Hopefully this uploaded and excuse my bad photo. I'm such a Noob!! LOL I'm trying to figure out how to photograph with the limited camera I have. What would cause this cent to tone this way?
    Thanks for looking!

Looks like something got spilled on it. The ones from the cupholder in my car look about the same.

Sodas will do that if they're allowed to sit on the coin. It looks cool though!

I keep trying to decide if it NT or AT in my 2 cup holders :) Some day maybe instead of having a slab labeled "Shipwreck effect" I could get "Toyota Tacoma Cupholder Effect"

Well it's not seen a cup holder in a car in it's lifetime actually, it got pulled out of the cent roll way back and put in a box with some other coins my great grandfather had at the time so there must be another explanation. The coloring goes to the back of the coin and it swirls throughout as if something didn't mix correctly. Its the strangest thing I have ever seen.
I also have some of those famous coke covered coins and non of them ever resembled this.
    Any other idea's?

    LOL,
I lived in southern california till this year no humidity where I lived and it was toned that way when it came out of the roll... Funny thing is the gold looks like gold not copper. :b8nce:
